The Utah Motorsport Campus has to be one of the wildest tracks ever designed in Motorsport. Something about a car flying 130+ feet through the air seems so...Unrealistic. The jump is not an exhibition or proof of concept, its part of the track. Something that is consistently hit every lap. The room for error is exorbitant and these insane drivers take the risk. At any given moment, there can be 3 cars stacked on top of each other because the gap jump goes over a table top which has a tunnel unde
Glen Helen saw a rework to the Nitro Rallycross festival. The beginnings of a blueprint to forge a one of a kind event that satiates the appetite of motorsport fans. The NITRO brand made their name off the Nitro Circus series where Travis Pastrana and his very talented friends would take extreme sports and, somehow, make them more extreme. Sky diving without a parachute and jumping a BMX bike from one building top to another are just small examples how it became so popular. That being said, when
Nitro Rallycross hit the ice in Calgary and did not disappoint. With the largest turn out of fans of any North American race, it's safe to say it was a success! We hope that Calgary will become a staple of the Nitro calendar as the series grows! Photos by Owen Rumpel and Lochlan Walker
Written by, Owen Rumpel l..Ready or not, here comes NRX Calgary! Today was the first in-person look at the purpose built track for Nitro Rally Cross, perfectly nestled amongst the rodeo grounds and chuckwagon track of GMC Stadium, at the Calgary Stampede Park. With tight turns, long straightaways, sweeping banked turns, a large table top jump front and centre and a tunnel section running below a part of the track. This race is set to be everything rally fans have hoped for. Lets start by looking
Photos and Words by Owen Rumpel January 31, 2023 It’s January 2023 and for the most part, the auto world feels like normal again. Race events are taking place as usual, car meets are popping up, enthusiasts are going out and auctions are gaining attendees. Nowhere has this been more apparent than at Barrett-Jackson’s flagship auction in Scottsdale, Arizona. The event started off strong with a record breaking attendance for the opening weekend and didn’t slow down there, attendance records contin
For 25 years we, the general public, have been stuck with one option for off road focused hooning. The jeep wrangler has had a monopoly on driving up mountains and through swamps. So much so that the people who drive them have turned owning one into cult like behaviour. A jeep owner will run over a group of people to show that it's “trail rated” then obnoxiously park in the giant pile of snow that builds up in parking lots and while walking away they’ll look you dead in the eyes and go “it’s a j

Photos by Owen Rumpel & Lochlan Walker Words by Owen Rumpel Nestled in the Arizona desert, there is a monumental concentration of high end cars. Collector cars, resto-mods, super and hyper cars. Some scattered and some clustered, one of these clusters is centred in Scottsdale, a community of higher than average luxury. The magnet that pulls these car enthusiasts together is a shared love for the culture. A congregation of like minded people that want to share their vehicles with others, learn fr

A race track is long overdue for the city of Calgary. We, as a city, have been deprived of the spectacle of motorsport since 2011. When Race City was shut down, enthusiasts in and around Calgary were filled with heartbreak. The closest tracks were hours away and not ideal for a quick evening of track time. Tracks like Area27, RAD Torque and Strawberry Creek all took on the burden of Calgary's insatiable car fanatics. Unfortunately, so did the streets of Calgary. Dangerous racing exploded onto pu
