L.A. Fashion Weekend recently launched atop the Godfrey Hotel Hollywood’s seventh floor I|O rooftop space and was sponsored by Style House Hollywood. The March 15–17 edition of the show wrapped up Los Angeles Market Week, which ran March 11–15.
Los Angeles–based Art Hearts Fashion produced its latest edition March 21–24 at The New Mart in the heart of the city’s fashion district, where it showcased Los Angeles fashion, global designers and brands from Ukraine.
Just in time for the Academy Awards on March 10, brilliantly detailed costumes are on display at the annual ASU FIDM Museum “Art of Costume Design in Film” exhibit, which opened March 5 and is running through April 20. Included are Best Costume Design nominees “Barbie,” “Killers of the Flower Moon” “Napoleon,” “Oppenheimer” and “Poor Things.”

Among the Art Hearts Fashion presentations at New York Fashion Week Sept. 7–10 were a number of California designers including Kentaro Kameyama, Melissa Pellone, Coral Castillo, Mister Triple X and Tell the Truth. This flowing yet masculine patchwork jacket and pants relied on a vibrant blend of bubblegum pink, grape and raspberry.
An outdoor woman who also loves to dress, Heidi Merrick took inspiration for her Autumn/Winter 2023 collection from her love of the outdoors, “where her soul calls.” Many of the pieces are oversized yet tailored with the detailed expertise for which her brand is known.
For the Spring/Summer 2024 collection of Los Angeles brand Rhude, designer Rhuigi Villaseñor drew inspiration from camels in the Middle East, boats in Southeast Asia, large billboards in the U.S., movies of European secret agents, superheroes and Americana.
For Fall 2023 California designer Trina Turk took inspiration from 1970s New York City pulling from movies, popular culture, the architecture and energy of lower Manhattan, with a nod to the street-smart glamour of the era.
Michael Costello x Revolve runway looks with festive, colorful resortwear and swimwear perfectly closed out Los Angeles Swim Week. Through a partnership with Fashion Tech Works at The New Mart and Art Hearts Fashion, 20 designers in all took to the catwalk.
