The Transplant Links Community Deck of Cards is a collaboration between 54 artists who have come together to create a totally unique deck of cards to raise funds for life saving charity Transplant Links Community (TLC). Each of the 54 artists, including Grayson Perry, Lizzie Riches, George Underwood, Sarah Jarret, and many others, has chosen a card from a standard deck and created an original artwork based on their card. Each artwork will be sold in a public online auction on Thursday 24th October 7:00 pm via the Ewbank’s Auctions website. Here, you can see some of the artworks that will be available and read interviews with contributing artists. Hyun Yoon won the Pastel Award in Jackson’s Art Prize this year with her work Heat Waves. In this interview, Hyun talks about her approach to abstraction, the materials she can’t live without, and how listening to a particular record helps her prepare for a day in the studio. I’m from South Korea, where I was born, raised, and studied product design. After graduating, I travelled the world with my husband, which was an amazing experience that hugely influenced my creativity. At some point, I developed a strong desire to live in Europe, and I felt that it should be London – specifically Clapton. The marshland was probably the biggest reason I chose this area. Wetlands are rare in Korea, and the first time I saw the marsh here, it was filled with water, forming several ponds. Birds I had never seen before swimming around.
