So what exactly will constitute success for the Brooklyn Nets' 2025-26 campaign? What do they want to get out of their immediate future? The Post put that question to one of the greatest players from their past, the highest-flying Net ever.
There’s only so much to glean from two preseason games, especially when, as the case of the Knicks, they pulled their starters at halftime and twice faced the shorthanded Sixers halfway across the globe in Abu Dhabi. But there were solid indications about how this team hopes to operate. And, more tellingly, how the coach will communicate.
Mike Brown’s plan felt like it took a step forward in Saturday’s 112-104 victory over Philadelphia — albeit an itsy-bitsy baby step, because it’s preseason — as the Knicks pushed the offense down the court with more haste than Thursday’s preseason opener.
The Knicks entered last season hoping against expectation they would eliminate Boston, which had just steamrolled the NBA with a young core that appeared destined for a dynastic run. Then they did it. The Knicks shocked the defending champs. And it wasn’t good enough.
Saturday will mark the second time in three years that Brooklyn has hosted an Israeli team in the preseason, after beating Maccabi Ra’anana in 2023-24. But this time, the tilt will feature Jewish rookies Saraf and Wolf — and quite possibly protests outside Barclays Center as well.
