Around 2600 years ago a prince of the Shakya clan named Siddhartha achieved the supreme state of awareness, possible for any mortal being which we call as ‘Enlightenment’. Meanwhile, while achieving the supreme state of enlightenemnt; he also attained the supreme wisdom regarding the functioning of reality.
If we have been asked about the definition of any thought or an action, which can be considered as right in the context of morality, I am quite sure that none would come up with a substantial definition for it. Although morality, can be seen as a transparent quality similar to the clean drinking water; yet at most of the times it turns out to be highly subjective and its definition always changes while depending upon the surroundings; much similar to the muddy waters of a mountainous river.
Mindfulness, allows the person to attain a state of awareness towards his own thoughts. If it sounds too simple, I would recommend you to try to write a journal about whatever is going on within your mind. I also won’t push you to do this exercise for the upcoming weeks or so. Simply ‘try’ to write whatever comes in the mind for the duration of only 1 minute.
We all are well aware of the fact that there are numerous benefits of meditation; so much so that it is no longer a matter of debate. It surely is beneficial and whatever science we know in the present times, approves its vast benefits. In fact there also are several scientific researches, supporting the fact that the simple practice of sitting in silence does have immense benefits over our mental and physical bodies.
Many people find the idea of seeking as something as highly beneficial while the others completely deny its essence for the sake of spiritual growth. In simple terms, many people would favor ‘seeking’ (which acts as an active tool to progress ahead on to the spiritual path); while others simply believe in the idea of becoming a ‘non-seeker’.
Human beings are definitely one of those beings which are programmed to collect a vast amount of knowledge while living through their whole life span. But, I wonder that how much we actually utilize this capacity of learning, which seems like an exclusive quality which only belongs to us; the human beings.
