ABA League, formerly known as the Adriatic League, is a regional professional basketball league that operates in the former Yugoslavia region. The league is composed of teams from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia. It is the second-best regional league in Europe, behind the EuroLeague, and it is organized by the Adriatic Basketball Association. ABA League was founded in 2001 and since then it has grown to become one of the most competitive leagues in Europe. The league features some of the best teams from the former Yugoslavia region, including KK Crvena Zvezda, KK Partizan, KK Cibona, KK Zadar, KK Olimpija and KK Budućnost. The league also features teams from other countries, such as KK MZT Skopje, KK Igokea, KK Zagreb, KK Split and KK Žalgiris. The league is divided into two divisions, the ABA League and the ABA 2 League. The ABA League is the top division, while the ABA 2 League is the lower division.
SC Derby announced the team has signed shooting guard Ilija Goranović on a 1-year deal. Goranović has spent his entire pro career in Sutjeska for which he has played since 2016. In the previous season, he averaged 3 points, 0.9 rebounds, and 0.4 assists per game in NLB ABA League 2.
