Ahmet Ağaoğlu is a Turkish journalist and political analyst who has written extensively on Turkish politics and foreign policy. He is the author of several books, including The Turkish Model: Challenges and Opportunities for the 21st Century and Turkey and the World: A New Foreign Policy Agenda. He is a regular contributor to the political and economic magazine Zaman and is the editor-in-chief of the think tank Centre for Strategic Studies and Analysis (CSSA). He is also a former columnist for the Turkish newspaper Milliyet. Ağaoğlu is an advocate of a more positive and proactive Turkish foreign policy, which he believes is necessary to secure a more influential role for Turkey in international affairs. He has argued in favour of Turkey joining the European Union, as well as advocating for closer ties with the United States, Russia, and other regional powers such as Iran and Iraq. He has also argued in favour of increased diplomatic relations between Turkey and Armenia. Ağaoğlu is a frequent guest on international news programs and has been interviewed by numerous outlets, including the BBC, CNN, and Al Jazeera. He is also a regular speaker at major international conferences, including the World Economic Forum and the London School of Economics.
