Beşiktaş is a professional football club in Istanbul, Turkey, that competes in the Süper Lig, the top tier of Turkish football. Founded in 1903, the club is one of the most successful in Turkish football, having won 16 Süper Lig titles and 17 Turkish Cups. Beşiktaş is also a regular participant in European competitions, having reached the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League in the 2003–04 season.
