Black Adam (real name Teth-Adam) is a fictional supervillain appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. Created by Otto Binder and C. C. Beck, the character is an ancient Egyptian predecessor of Captain Marvel, who uses magical powers granted by the gods of Egypt and has no superpowers of his own. Black Adam was initially depicted as a one-time villain in the 1940s, but has since evolved into an anti-hero or even a protagonist. He is featured in various DC comics, cartoons, video games, and films.
