Though it fizzled at the box-office, Shane Black’s 2016 neo-noir buddy comedy “The Nice Guys” has become something of a modern cult classic in recent years. The film sees Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe as a private eye and enforcer, respectively, who team up to investigate a case in 1970s Los Angeles. Despite good reviews, […]
Forget the now-waning MCU era. Comic book adaptations really became the rage after Tim Burton’s Batman grossed a mighty $450 million back in 1989. One of the films released in the wake of that DC Comics behemoth was The Phantom – a rollicking adventure starring Billy Zane, directed by Simon Wincer. In 2008 there were rumours of a reboot of The Phantom starring Sam Worthington, but they fizzled out and came to nothing.

2001 comedy “Zoolander” was a solid performer for its star, co-writer and director Ben Stiller – scoring good reviews and pulling in $60.8 million against a budget of $28 million. The sequel in 2016 however, which cost almost twice as much to create, ended up earning several million less and was widely considered a box-office […]
