Captain America is a fictional Marvel Comics superhero created by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby. The character first appeared in Captain America Comics #1 (cover-dated March 1941). Since then, Captain America has appeared in hundreds of comic books, television shows, and movies. The character is widely regarded as one of the most popular and recognizable superheroes in the world.
