China's Chery Automobile to invest $1.4 billion in Brazil China's Chery Automobile Co Ltd said on Monday it plans to invest 10 billion reais ($1.4 billion) in Brazil over the next decade, as the Chinese carmaker expands its presence in the South American nation. The investment will go towards building a factory, research and development centers and a dealer network, Chery said in a statement. The company, which started production in Brazil in 2019, plans to produce more than 120,000 vehicles a year by 2025. "This investment will make Brazil an important base for Chery's internationalization strategy," the statement said.
