Dua Lipa is currently on her tour for her new album Radical Optimism, which was snubbed from the 2025 Grammys. However, the pop star has canceled tonight’s show in Jakarta due to “safety issues with the staging.” “I am heartbroken to share that I won’t be able to perform in Jakarta this Saturday, November 9,” Lipa wrote on her Instagram Story, continuing: I am here in your amazing country and ready to perform, but I am gutted to share that it has been determined that it is not safe for the performance to carry on due to safety issues with the staging. I was so looking forward to this night, and it truly pains me that we cannot perform for you all, especially after such a long time since my last performance in Jakarta. Refunds will be made from your point of purchase. I love you all and truly can’t wait to be back together in the same room with you singing and dancing our hearts out as soon as possible. 🖤 https://t.co/jr78GThifd pic.twitter.com/JVRV36XKrt — DUA LIPA (@DUALIPA) November 8, 2024 This is so… pic.twitter.com/IpSqFHB2DP — nat (@dunstz) November 8, 2024
A Positive Award for the Star! Dua Lipa has won a new award, and it’s a very wholesome one: the Mental Health Champion of the Year Award from The Trevor Project, a crisis intervention nonprofit for LGBTQ young people. “Dua has been a fierce, longtime advocate for The Trevor Project’s life-saving mission,” the organization stated on its website. “In addition to Dua’s unwavering support of the LGBTQ+ community, she is a dedicated mental health activist, frequently discussing her own struggles over the years and how she maintains her well-being.” The Grammy Award winner expressed her gratitude in accepting the award, stating, “I am unbelievably moved and honored to receive this year’s Mental Health Champion of the Year Award.” She continued, “To every young person out there: know that you are loved, you are not alone, and The Trevor Project is a wonderful organization that is always there for you. The LGBTQ+ community has been my biggest champion since the start of my career, and I will continue to fight to make sure your voices are heard, your rights are protected, and you are treated with respect for being just the way you are.” Lipa is the fourth person to win the award from The Trevor Project, with Lil Nas X in 2021, Janelle Monáe in 2022, and Dylan Mulvaney winning the award last year. I also have to thank The Trevor Project for providing these images for news outlets to use, it was super convenient and made reporting this news a lot easier for me. Josie RavanMy name is Josie!
