Hawkeye is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer Stan Lee and artist Don Heck, the character first appeared in Tales of Suspense #57 (September 1964). He is a former circus acrobat who uses his skills to fight crime as a member of the Avengers. Hawkeye has been featured in several solo books, including his own four-issue series in 1983. He has also appeared in other Marvel media, such as animated television series and video games.
