Hawkeye is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer Stan Lee and artist Don Heck, the character first appeared in Tales of Suspense #57 (September 1964). He is a former circus acrobat who uses his skills to fight crime as a member of the Avengers. Hawkeye has been featured in several solo books, including his own four-issue series in 1983. He has also appeared in other Marvel media, such as animated television series and video games. The character has been portrayed in live-action by actors Jeremy Renner in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films The Avengers (2012), Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), Captain America: Civil War (2016), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), Avengers: Endgame (2019), and the Disney+ series Hawkeye (2021).
