Ilhan Palut is a Turkish journalist and television presenter. He is best known for his work as a news anchor for CNN Türk and as the host of the popular talk show Açık Gündem. He has also worked as a columnist and political commentator for various newspapers and magazines in Turkey. Palut has won numerous awards for his work in journalism, including the TÜRKVAK Prize for Best Television News Program in 2010. He has also been a member of the Turkish Journalists' Association since 2008. Palut is an outspoken critic of the current Turkish government and has been vocal in his opposition to many of its policies. He has been arrested and detained multiple times in relation to his work, most recently in 2019 when he was accused of “insulting the president” through a tweet.
