Marek Hamšík is a Slovak professional footballer who plays for Serie A club Napoli and the Slovakia national team. He is a midfielder who usually plays as a central midfielder, but can also play on the left side of midfield. Hamšík has been an integral part of the Napoli team since his arrival in 2007, and is currently the club captain and all-time leading goalscorer. He is also Slovakia's all-time leading goalscorer, with 34 goals in 109 appearances. In 2020, Hamšík was named the greatest Slovak footballer of all time by the Slovak Football Association.
