INAH archaeologists unearthed an elaborate stele with reliefs on both sides, in the Archaeological Zone of Uxmal, in the Yucatan peninsula. It is of great value that the stele was found 'in situ' (in the place, where the ancient Mayans traditionally placed the monument in pre-Hispanic times.)
Archaeologists using radar have once again uncovered amazing ancient structures that cannot be easily detected from the ground. With the help of LIDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) scientists have detected a huge unknown 2,000-year-old Maya civilization in northern Guatemala.

An extremely important 1-ton sculpture, sometimes referred to by archaeologists as an “Earth Monster” or Monument 9, was repatriated to Mexico from a private collection in Colorado in May 2023,
