Ms. Marvel is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character was created by writer G. Willow Wilson and artist Adrian Alphona, and first appeared in Captain Marvel vol. 7 #14 (August 2013). The character is part of the Marvel Comics' shared universe, known as the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and has been featured in various films, television series, and video games. The character is also the first Muslim character to headline her own comic book. Ms. Marvel follows the adventures of Kamala Khan, a Pakistani American teenager from Jersey City, New Jersey, who discovers that she has shapeshifting abilities, allowing her to alter her physical form. With these powers, she takes up the mantle of Ms. Marvel and joins the Avengers.
