Oppression is the unjust or cruel exercise of power or authority. It is an act or instance of oppressing, a state of being oppressed, or the feeling of being heavily burdened, mentally or physically, by troubles, adverse conditions, and anxiety. Oppression can take the form of societal, institutional, and systemic discrimination, as well as physical and psychological abuse. It can also take the form of censorship, racial and gender discrimination, and unequal access to education and employment opportunities. This collection of news, articles, and videos sheds light on the different forms of oppression, the effects of oppression on different communities, and the efforts to address and combat oppression.
