Peapack-Gladstone is a borough located in Somerset County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the borough's population was 2,582, reflecting an increase of 161 (+6.7%) from the 2,421 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 98 (+4.2%) from the 2,323 counted in the 1990 Census. It is known for being a wealthy bedroom community of New York City, located within the New York metropolitan area. The borough was formed by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on March 20, 1912, from portions of Bedminster Township, based on the results of a referendum held on April 2, 1912. The borough was named for the two communities it encompasses — Peapack and Gladstone — which were named after Thomas Peapack and Jonathan Gladstone, who settled the area in 1720.
