True to form, EH peppers the first few chapters with subtle reminders of book 1 details that help to quickly reimmerse the reader into this diverse and complex world. The two parallel story lines, Tatyana and Oleg’s relationship and the growing subterfuge within Oleg’s Eastern European/Asian empire, intertwine perfectly to keep you hooked page after page as both build to a dramatic ending.
