PR Sample Some of you may know, and some may not, that I’ve been wearing wigs on and off for most of my adult life. I used to wear fun colourful wigs just for fun on a night out in my 20’s, but as time went on I ended up with hair loss issues, and I’m now at a point where I can’t wear my hair down as it’s so thin. So I wear wigs! And I love them! I love how quickly and easily you can change your look. HotHair is the number 1 UK based site for all your wig, topper and extension needs – they have a massive selection available, including many different brands, shades and styles. And HotHair currently have an amazing Black Friday sale on with at least 25% off everything! I wanted to share with you the gorgeous Tantalise wig by Natural Image, which currently has a massive £81.25 saving! ‘Tantalise is the ultimate wig. Gorgeous face framing layers that fall to the middle of the back are straight yet have loads of movement and bounce. The cap is ultra luxurious with a monofilament top and a lace front for an undetectable, virtually invisible hairline and is 100% handtied and contoured for a perfect, lightweight fit.’ The wig is available in seven shades – I have Praline Mist, which is a beautiful multi-toned blonde. I took a photo in bright sunlight so you can see the gorgeous tones in the hair. Also a close up of the lace front, which looks so natural. I’m honestly so impressed with this wig. The hair is of the highest quality and feels silky smooth, and without that shininess that you can sometimes get with wigs. It looks so real and natural, and people that don’t know me always assume it’s my real hair! I highly recommend you check out HotHair’s amazing sale today! Comments comments

Ten Cosy Winter Fragrances You Need To Try - Thou Shalt Not Covet...

Affiliate Links PR Sample Winter is upon us, the weather is cool, crisp, (and wet unfortunately!) and I don’t know about you, but I’m craving sweet, vanillas, warming woods and oud scents right now. So, I’ve gathered together a selection of my favourite cosy feeling scents for you today – enjoy! BDK Vanille Leather Let’s kick things off with the beautiful BDK Vanille Leather. Opening with pink peppercorn and violet accord, this scent feels instantly rich, full and sweet. The violet accord in particular works so well here, giving the set a light floral lift in the opening. The heart features a beautiful bouquet of flowers including tuberose, jasmine and orange blossom. The florals here are so well blended; they feel so sweet and smooth, and just very opulent and refined. In the base, the scent includes vanilla, patchouli, oakwood, leather, orris and benzoin. These notes work together to give a gorgeously warming, dry down, with soft leather, light woods and vanilla. I think the dry down on this fragrance is my favourite part! This scent is perfect for wearing in colder weather. Top Notes: Pink peppercorn, Violet accord Heart Notes: Indian tuberose absolute, Egyptian jasmine absolute, Orange blossom absolute Base Notes: Madagascan vanilla, Indonesian patchouli, Oakwood, Leather accord, Orris, Benzoin resinoid Maison Tahité Vanille de Minuit Another stunning vanilla scent is Maison Tahité Vanille de Minuit. This fragrance also combines vanilla with leather, but in a very different way to BDK’s Vanille Leather. Opening with smooth and creamy sandalwood, suede accord and soft leather, this is instantly a gorgeously rich and dark vanilla fragrance. Without being overly sweet, it feels wonderfully sensuous, syrupy thick, and luxuriously alluring. This one is no where near as sweet as BDK’s Vanille Leather, and feels like much more of a deeper, unisex fragrance. The heart features notes of nagarmotha, saffron and vanilla, giving the scent warmth along with a woody earthiness. The base includes vanilla and resinoid benzoin for a warming, soft-leather and rich vanilla dry down. This is another must-try vanilla fragrance. Top Notes: Soft Leather, Suede Accord, Sandalwood Heart Notes: Vanilla, Saffron, Nagarmotha Base Notes: Resinoid Benzoin, Vanilla Fragrance du Bois Rude Oud Rude Oud is absolutely not a ‘rude’ scent at all. Rude Oud is in fact a very easy going, palatable oud that most people will enjoy. Created by perfumer Christian Provenzano, Rude Oud is a is a stunning, juicy, fruity oud fragrance. The scent opens with bright and juicy notes of saffron and raspberry, leading to a heart of rose and leather. The scent is sweet and fresh, with the leather mostly sitting in the background. The base includes notes of amber and oud – the oud here is soft, mild and lightly woody, and the dry down on the scent is beautifully warm, ambery and opulent. This is another winner from Fragrance du Bois! Top Notes: Saffron, Raspberry Heart Notes: Rose, Leather Base Notes: Oud, Amber Ormonde Jayne Kashmir One of Ormande Jayne’s newest launches, Kashmir had to be included today. Described as mesmeric, pervasive and mythical, Kashmir has a wonderfully fresh and spicy opening, with prominent notes of pink pepper, cardamom and saffron. This scent is instantly rich and enticing. Soon I pick up on the Himalayan fir, and the floral notes in the heart lift the fragrance with a touch of sweetness. The fir takes you to a dense forest in the heart of winter, making this very much a scent for cooler weather. The base features deodar, sandalwood, vanilla, benzoin, incense and more, and as the scent dries down, it warms up further, feeling sweetly warm, woody and soft. Overall, this fragrance is beautifully elegant and sophisticated, and I love the cosy, comforting feeling it gives. Top Notes: Bergamot, Cardamom, Coriander Seed, Saffron, Pink Pepper Heart Notes: Jasmine, Iris, Rose, Blue Poppy, Himalayan Fir Base Notes: Deodar, Sandalwood, Cashmeran, Benzoin, Vanilla, Patchouli, Incense, Myrrh, Musk Les Eaux Primordiales Ambre Supermassive I can’t get enough of Les Eaux Primordiales Ambre Supermassive. Opening with top notes of peach, apple, cinnamon, pineapple and sesame, the scent feels beautifully ambery, sweet and rich. I love the cinnamon especially, giving the fragrance a glowing, light spiciness. The heart of the scent features honey, rose, cardamom, heliotrope and rum. I mostly pick up on the sweet, sticky honey and rum here, and the base includes amber, black vanilla, saffron, musk and tobacco, resulting in a beautiful warming, sweet-tobacco and amber dry down. This is such a gorgeous fragrance that’s perfect for winter! Top Notes: Peach, Apple, Cinnamon, Pineapple, Sesame Heart Notes: Rose, Heliotrope, Honey, Cardamom, Rum Base Notes: Black Vanilla, Amber, Saffron, Tobacco, Musk Amouroud Oud Tabac If you enjoy oud fragrances, you need to check out Amouroud’s amazing fragrance collection. Oud Tabac is one of my favourites from the brand. This intensely opulent scent opens with notes of saffron, heliotrope, coriander and ginger. The opening feels lively with the spicy ginger, the coriander is also prominent, and the heliotrope and saffron and a lovely richness to the scent. In the heart, there’s notes of amberwood, olibanum, oud and tobacco, and the fragrance feels beautifully luxurious, smooth and enticing. Lastly the base, featuring musk, vanilla bourbon, cistus and cedar, leaves you with a gorgeously warming dry down. Top Notes: Ginger, Coriander, Heliotrope, Saffron Heart Notes: Pipe Tobacco NP, Oud, Olibanum, Amberwood Base Notes: Alaskan Cedar, Cistus, Vanilla Bourbon, Musk Welton London L’Amour Absolu Welton London is a brand that really doesn’t get enough love in my opinion. My second fragrance from the brand (my other being Secret Amber, which is another must-have) L’Amour Absolu is a fragrance based on plum, rum, woods and vanilla. The opening is beautifully sweet and luxurious with juicy plum, as well as spicy cinnamon and a touch of coffee. From designer to niche, there’s something for everyone – enjoy! Gucci Osmanthus Nectar What better fragrance for Valentine’s Day than a stunning new launch from Gucci. The brand has recently added three new scents to their premium ‘Alchemist’s Garden’ collection – Vanilla Firenze, Fiori di Neroli, and Osmanthus Nectar. Osmanthus Nectar is a striking floral fruity fragrance with key notes of apricot, osmanthus and sandalwood. ‘The new Osmanthus Nectar Eau de Parfum is a fragrance that awakens the senses–from taste to smell–by evoking the familiar, delectable aroma of the Osmanthus flower. Perfumer Natalie Lorson set out to reveal the essence of the Osmanthus, highlighting its own apricot- like notes through an innovative technique that bridges the worlds of flavour and fragrance. This delicate floral note is complemented by the grounding warmth of Sandalwood Essential Oil, obtained through molecular distillation. The result is a creamy, woody base with a hint of dry spiciness that adds depth to the fragrance. ‘ – Gucci. This is a must-try for fans of the original Burberry Goddess scent. ‘Burberry Goddess is a story of self-discovery found through confidence, strength and kindness.  The signature trio of vanillas from Goddess Eau de Parfum is amplified with a fourth vanilla wood (vanilla SFE) that has a smoky character. When combined with luminous lavender essence, it intensifies the scent with a vibrant woody aroma.’ – Burberry. Think rich but earthy, intense black truffle, dark chocolate, vanilla and woods. Enticing but not overly sweet – this is the perfect unisex scent. ‘A decadent, spicy fragrance, Tom Ford Black Orchid unfolds to reveal dark florals, rich fruits and a long-lasting base of woody notes. One of the latest additions to the ‘Les Fleurs de Nuit’ sub-division of this collection, is Orchidee de Minuit. Each scent in this range focusses on a different flower, whose fragrances metamorphose as night falls. The beautiful White Orchid is the star of the show in Orchidee de Minuit. ‘Just once in its lifetime, the white orchid opens in the dark of night and exhales a smooth, sweet perfume enticing pollinators and allowing vanilla pods to grow. Perfumers Mathieu Nardin and Cécile Matton captured this unique moment in this amber floral perfume where delicate notes of orchid flower entwine with rum, jasmine, benzoin and patchouli in a hypnotic, almost animalic harmony. Which Is The Best Marc Jacobs Perfect Fragrance? - Thou Shalt Not Covet...

Affiliate Links PR Sample Are you a fan of the Marc Jacobs ‘Perfect’ fragrance line? The collection now includes four best-selling scents, each a slightly different version of the original. I’ve gathered the four fragrances together today to review and compare them for you, so you can choose the perfect ‘Perfect’ scent to suit your mood. Which will you choose? Perfect Eau De Parfum (2020) – Soft, Comforting, Floral. The first Perfect fragrance is described as a celebration of self-love and being #PerfectAsIAm. I remember the fist time I tried the original Perfect fragrance, I thought it was so pretty! I was a bit concerned about the rhubarb in the top before trying the scent, but it only adds the slightest touch of tangy sharpness that actually works really well with the other notes. There’s also daffodil in the top here which gives a lovely bright floral touch to the scent, and I love the almond milk in the heart which offers a beautifully smooth, creaminess. The fragrance is then finished off with cashmeran, which leaves you with a really wonderful, warm soft and sweet dry down. Top Notes: Rhubarb & Daffodil Heart Notes: Almond Milk Base Notes: Cashmeran Perfect Intense Eau de Parfum (2021) – Rich, Golden, Bold. I’m sure you can probably guess by the name, that Perfect Intense is a richer, bolder version of the original fragrance. I was so glad when the brand launched Perfect Intense – a more intense version of the original sounded amazing to me! Perfect Intense takes out the sharpness of the rhubarb from the original and injects hit of night blooming jasmine into the fragrance, which adds a beautiful floral richness to the opening. The roasted almonds in the heart ties the scent to the original, give a warm creaminess, which is similar to the original fragrance, but feels richer, slightly earthy, nutty, and much creamier. The sandalwood, sesame oil and cashmeran in the base finishes off the fragrance perfectly, with a warm, sweet and woody dry down. Top Notes: Daffodil Absolute & Night Blooming Jasmine Heart Notes: Roasted Almonds, Pink Pepper, Pamplezest Base Notes: Sandalwood, Sesame oil, Cashmeran Perfect Eau de Toilette (2022) – Bright, Sparkling, Floral. An Eau De Toilette scent, by definition, is a lighter, often fresher, and less intense fragrance, compared to an eau de parfum, or a parfum fragrance. I think the EDT version of Perfect is probably the most similar to the original out of all of them. The opening definitely feels fresher and brighter than the original, with pink peppercorn taking centre stage, blended with a hint of greenness from the Polygonum. This scent doesn’t have the creaminess of the other three launches – there is no almond note here – instead we have white daffodil in the heart, giving this fragrance a beautiful floral lift, and it’s finished with a woody, slightly warming base of cedarwood. Overall this one is quite similar to the original Perfect, while feeling lighter and more airy. Top Notes: Pink Peppercorn and Polygonum Heart Notes: White Daffodil Base Notes: Cedarwood Perfect Elixir Eau de Parfum (2024) – Luxurious, Opulent, Extravagant. And finally the latest launch, Perfect Elixir. Similar to Perfect Intense, this fragrance is rich and opulent, but it’s quite different to Perfect Intense – and I think it’s now my favourite out of the collection. This one feels so wonderfully rich and luxurious, I can’t get enough of it! Perfect Elixir opens with a purple rhubarb accord, and though it does have a touch of sharpness similar the original, it instantly feels deeper, heavier and more rounded. The Golden Amber Woods Accord blended with orange blossom in the heart is so beautiful, adding a warming layer to the fragrance that really does feel like a golden sunset, and the amber is quite prominent throughout the longevity of the scent. In the base you’ll find vanilla bean extract, along with myrrh and earthy patchouli, finishing off the fragrance with a beautifully warm and sweet dry down. Top Notes: Purple Rhubarb Accord, Plum Accord, Liquid Honey Nectar Accord Heart Notes: Golden Amber Woods Accord, Orange Blossom Absolute Accord Base Notes: Vanilla Bean Extract, Myrrh Resinoid, Patchouli Heart Have you tried the Marc Jacobs Perfect line yet? Let me know your favourite! Marc Jacobs fragrances are available now at Boots, The Perfume Shop, Lookfantastic, and Sephora. Comments comments
